The British Association of General Paediatricians (BAGP) is seeking a General Paediatric Consultant to join its executive team in the role of Treasurer.

About us:
The BAGP is committed to promoting General Paediatrics as a career and support general paediatric training. We do this by:
- Working with the RCPCH on curriculum development.
- Ensuring that General Paediatrics is considered in workforce planning initiatives.
- Providing motivation, support and guidance to those aspiring to become General Paediatricians.
We strongly support General Paediatricians’ involvement in research, service improvements and guidelines. We do this by:
- Supporting General Paediatricians with guideline development at local and national levels e.g. through NICE.
- Collaborating closely with Paediatric Research groups like GAPRUKI and setting research priorities
- Supporting service improvements such as integrated care, mental health provision or other relevant services in general paediatrics
The BAGP aims to ensure that General Paediatrics remains central to healthcare provision for children & young people. We do this by:
- Developing a visionary voice for General Paediatrics and being an advocate for general paediatrics.
- Collaborating with other paediatric subspecialties.
- Working with RCPCH to recognise General Paediatrics as a specialty in its own right.
Role Overview: We are looking for a Consultant General Paediatrician or a Trainee in General Paediatrics within six months of completing their training, working in the UK as a General Paediatrician, to join the BAGP executive team as a Treasurer.
The role involves:
- Overseeing the BAGP’s finances and ensuring funds are managed appropriately
- Attend quarterly executive meetings and stand in for the Chair or Secretary as needed.
- Help organise and deliver the General Paediatrics sessions at the annual RCPCH conference if required.
- Actively provide input in BAGP projects
- Be passionate and committed to raise the voice of General Paediatricians
